Two Fishermen's Houses in the Slough by Alex Lyubar, An old fishermen village located in a slough of a river. Two wooden houses on stilts and a fishing motorboat at the pier, Summertime, riverbank overgrown with green trees and shrubs against a blue sky. Old fisherman's village in Finn Slough was built in 1880 as a fisherman village along the Fraser River in Richmond, British Columbia. This was the first settlement of fishermen, immigrants from Finland on the banks of the Fraser River. Today this settlement has lost its importance as a base of a fishing crew. But the descendants of those settlers support this village and use old houses as summer houses for amateur fishing
My name is Alex Lyubar. I'm originally from Ukraine. I've been living in Vancouver, British Columbia for the last 20 years. I've always dreamed of living in a place by the sea and mountains. British Columbia is one of the most beautiful places in the world. If you live in a picturesque place like that, it Is impossible to not take pictures and share with the rest of the world. Now photography has become the main occupation in my life. The main themes of my photos are nature, mountains, lakes, forests, landscapes and so on. I also like to take pictures of street life the night lights of the city. On these pages I'd like to show the world that I live in the way I see it myself.
